Mediterranean Slavery in Long-Term Perspective: A New Structuralist Approach

Dr. Jeffrey Fynn Paul is lecturer for Social and Economic History at the University of Leiden. His lecture will cover the period from Antiquity up to the Early Modern Period. He is the author of The Catalan City of Manresa in the Later Middle Ages: The Rise and Fall of an Urban Patriciate in Iberia, 1250-1500 and has edited Entrepreneurs, Military Finance, and the State in Europe and the Mediterranean, 1300-1800.  This lecture is hosted by the Arts Faculty Minor The Mediterranean World.
